I've noticed a lot of students with these little 3x3x1 portable music machines. They tell me they can fit 50+ hours of music on one little minidisc.

The idea of being able to travel with so much music taking up so little space sure is attractive. What are the up- and down-sides? What should I aim for? What should I avoid? Should I bother at all? Thanks.
