I agree. My non-Tele guitars are an 80's single-cutaway/single-humbucker Melody Maker, which is basically a really thin LP Jr. It takes care of my humbucker needs, which are rare these days. My other one is a $100 Epiphone LP Jr with a bolt-on neck, one P90 and an Epi Bigsby. It takes care of my rare Bigsby needs.
If you're looking for something REALLY different, how about a 12 string, or a baritone?
