Tasteful is a good description, as the filter doesn't pinch the tone out of site, yet has a good flavor to its wide range, although I've heard the Fulltone pot upgrade can do even more for it and is quite reliable. As for the battery suckage (did I just make that one up?

), I've got a 9V battery-shaped tip-and-cord that came with my VoodooLab powerbox and I just hook it up for fun on tap.
Paid US$70 for it used while in L.A. this past summer, and it says "VOX" on it for all to see with coolness and pride (sticks out tongue :P ). By the way, don't tell anyone but a little birdie whispered in my ear that Marquis de Jonny has an original '60s Vox 848(runs passive!).
