Bet no one asked this finish question yet.

How do you accomplish a decent protective finish in a war zone?

I am the author of thread The Afghanicaster and Freedomcaster Project.
I have a unique situation here. I have had some very generous donations of different guitar parts to get a few working guitars for a few good men. It has been challenging and fun, and it has given us a real morale boost while deployed here to Kandahar Afghanistan.

I have an unfinished swamp ash body that will be shipping any day now and would like to give it a protective finish. In an ideal situation i would finish it blond. Obviously, this is not an ideal situation.

idea 1. rattle can nitro Problem: Can't ship rattle cans overseas.

idea 2. cammo tan Problem: Can't ship rattle cans overseas. Local auto repair shop not able to help.

idea 3. Danish oil or tru-oil Problem: Can't ship... trend developing...

Anyone have any ideas??? suggestions??
