I suppose it depends on how much you spend on a 1st edition Bullet ! They will always go up in value, prices for 1st edition Bullets on ebay have doubled over the last 6 years in the UK !
Fine if you are going to keep it, but if that's not the plan, you may lose out, the guitar will always be more valuable in original condition.
I believe that you could probably get a body & neck made for less than the cost of buying a 1st ed Bullet.
I would be interested to know where you would get the custom alloy guard made & would like to see the finished guitar, when is it likely to happen ?
