Keep looking on eBay...they pop up often enough. I had the Artist VT which is the model after the 240...awesome amp, but the footswitch is a necessity for combining the channels and getting really great smooth distortion. Very Marshallesque. I always had an extra footswitch just in case.
It's a rather unique amp. I had the 15" Black Widow in my original and then years later I bought another with a 70's Celestion G15.
Good luck with it. I'm a big Peavey fan.
