String through anchor design, interesting...
Saw this Rob Allen Bass 'Ferrel Block' set up browsing. I am wondering how the low string anchor point being adjustable and optionally longer might alter/improve the tone or playability of the bass.

A Twin always will cut it... but I don't recommend it for everybody. It's like a big dog, you have to take responsibility for it. Not to mention... be prepared to lift it.
