Replacing 2 Prong Plug with 3 Prong. Help!

I have a '66 Champ that had a two prong plug wired in. The plug was crap and I want to replace it with a three prong plug. I can see the two connection on the chassis for the chord wires. Does it matter which side of the chord ( 2 wires on it ) I solder into the connections? Where should the ground wire go? Thanks for any help offered!
