I've got a 680 ohm Ohmite in my '67 Champ, but I'm running an old Sylvania 6V6. AND...I'm hitting it with a Copper Cap, since glass rectos are about as useful as chrome bumpers on a grizzly bear in a SE amp. I've got 1K on my screens and an extra 10K dropper for the pre sections, but the mains voltage is "up there."
...I really love the tones of that old Sylvania tube, though. It will be a sad day when she's used up.
