I love the breakup of a tube amp. Right on the edge. When your fingers and how hard or soft you play determines when that breakup happens. I can only get that from a tube amp.
I have a SS Fender Princeton Chorus that has amazing clean tones. Sparkly and bell like. But it can't do that breakup I described. However, it's cheap and great for playing at home.
