Solid State amps often have more clean headroom than most tube amps. And they are usually lighter weight.
SS amps also usually have a background hiss that bothers some folks.
My Magnatone and Frenzel tube amps have a whole lot of headroom and are remarkably free from self-noise when the tubes are in good shape. But they're heavier than my solid state amps.
Short form: Some tube amps have wonderful clean tone. But such amps are hard to find these days.
