So as a follow up to this post I started - I picked up a Mikey a couple months ago. It works, and it sounds good, but it can't handle even a living room-volume band practice without distorting, and this is with the mic level padded down as far as it will go.

I've also learned that not one single iPhone/iPod Touch recording app will accommodate input gain adjustment, because apparently that feature of the iPhone/iPod OS is not accessible to third party developers.

Bummer. Looks like I'm gonna sell this and get a Zoom H2.
