The neck on my 52RI was always kind of sticky and over the years i give an occasional light rub down with 0000 steel wool. it gets nice and smooth but doing that combined with lots of playing have given me a couple of spots that are wearing through...I'm going to sand the remaining finish off the back of the neck and want to know if i should use a wipe on poly finish (like the minwax wipe-on poly - clear satin) that i have from doing some furniture.....or should i maybe just wipe a little tung oil over it?????
