Some progress...
Everything is cleaned up and sliding nicely now. But it's going to need some shimming to restore a snug fit and re-enforce the receiving dovetail.
A spruce shim is cut to fit the angle and taper of the dovetail.
Then a dummy pin was cut to wedge the shim in place for preliminary glue up of the bottom shim.
Additional shims were cut for each side of the dovetail, but I failed to get pictures.
