I'm going to keep the regular pot configuration in the Tele. When I put the Dimarzio Area 58/58/61 setup in my G&L Legacy I did not change any of that and it worked out well. The areas are supposed to be OK with the same pots. So I think you would be OK with 250k ... I'll post how mine work out.
