How did it go out? I.e. did it just die or did you accidently spill a mai-tai into it or something?

I don't know exactly what Fender says about replacing stuff, but if you have the original bought new receipt you can probably get a replacement out of them.

If you narf'd it then I think you're stuck with Ebay or looking for something else. I had a local guy here in MSP wind me a neck pickup for my TX Tele and I like it very much. I hear really good things about Bill Lawerence's, Fralin, Lollar, Duncan, Kinman. There are LOTS of good pickups around.
