I suppose I'm in the minority, but I have played a lot of these and they leave me with that same unsettled feeling I got from playing those Indian made Squire Vintage Modifieds.
I used to be so full of disdain for many of the Korean built products - guitars dipped in heavy polyurethane. To be truthful I avoided late 70s and 1980s MIA Fenders for the same reason. Heavy heavy layers of finish just don't please the senses, I find.
Maybe keeping Mamma's living room furniture wrapped in plastic covers to keep the kids from ruining it (but the kids were forbidden from sitting on it, anyway) seemed like a good idea to Mamma, but it doesn't appeal to me at all.
