Hi Casual Reader... Yup...Fender did some wierd things back in the days! I've re-drawn my files to the 17 degree angle. I've made 8 guitars with the 14 degree angle and didn't have a problem on any. Go figure!
Another one of my pet pieves Is the jack cup area. I've seen many a guitar made with a HUGE flat at the jack cup! I personally like the look of the early 50s with no flat. Seems to flow better and the cup still fits fine ( machined or pressed) Sounds like a POLL question! Thats why when someone asks for the file I'll send both...the "50s17dNF" with no flat and the "60s17dF" with a slight flat ...same as the 60s....Uh oh...I'm rambling!!

Oh...by the way...The surf green body pictured above is one of my early mahogany bodies with the 14 degree cavity! Great sounding guitar and my new number 1 since I put the new veneer neck on her!
