i did that for a while in Toledo after the house band i was in got fired from a longtime gig ... billed myself as the Rockabilly Rebel, wore the leather jacket, slicked back my hair (i had some then) and frailed on an old Jazzmaster. i wasn't trying to "cover" the tunes, just deliver them to the audience in the best way i could.
one night a drummer i knew showed up and it briefly became a duo; then we recruited my old bassman buddy from down south and worked extensively as a trio (Woody & the Wingnuts) for several years. so good things can come from solo rockabilly gigs!
