With reference to PeterUKs questions...Most here will know that there was a pretty heavy polyurethane coating over the top of the paper, it had a tenedency to crack and sometimes come off in chunks...It is not all that inclined to yellow off, although it does a bit depending on exposure to club atmospheres and UV...I think one of the critical things for people to be aware of is the Pink colour they select, can't be too "candy" pink, nor too red, but that should be an easy thing to bet right...I would think that all that has to be done to the bare body would be a decent grain fill and sand, use a fill with something that'll allow anything to stick to it, shellac is easy, then find a real good adhesive that'll hold the paper in place front and back, not the edges (obviously)...Interestingly, I think that Fender probably could have done these a lot better back in the day, but I think today with modern finishes and adhesives it'll work out fine...Very worthwhile and interesting project, which I think with time will work out well...
