Fender M.I.C. doesn't own the rights to Leo's name - G&L does.
DaveO was trying to organize a tribute night here in Melbourne, even spoke to Fender Australia, but was advised that Leo's name could not be used in any advertising for the event.
It all got too difficult in the end... sad, but true.
