I just joined the club this weekend
with a black 2003 MIM reissue.
I read in reviews about the HB being muddy, but found that lowering the pup a couple of turns cleaned up the sound quite a bit, while slightly lowering the output.
I'm interested in the 250k -> 500k tone pot mod and would like to know from anyone who's done it:
Is it a relatively easy DIY (I can use a soldering iron, but I'm not an electronics wizz)?
Is it better to do both vol and tone pots?
Does the mod make any difference when the pots are at '10' - or only when dialled back a bit?
any advice/experience very welcome!
