This process involves floating the different colors in thin layers on top of water in a big vat. The guitar is first painted in the base color (light blue here) and then dipped into the water. The swirls (marbeling) adhere to the body as the guitar is lifted out of the water. The surface is a touch rough with small clumps in places. I gently remove the clumps with a glass scraper (microscope slide) and build a clear coat over it all. Different for sure but I like a change from all the old school fins/refins I do.
