I recently bought a SX 62 P/J for my Son to take to college. Cheap enough not to fuss and loose much sleep over if it turns up missing, or whatever.
After I futzed with it for a day or two - filed smooth the fret ends, lowered the saddles a bit, loosened up the truss a hair, it now plays like a million bucks, capable of low action without buzz. The neck is kinda chunky and the stock split p pickup is throaty and clear. (I don't care much for the j bridge pup tone, tho). Hardly any dead spot action on the g string.
A decent p bass for about $115.00 shipped, after the set-up and fret dress.
