Urethane Clear?

I have a body inbound. Ash lam top mahogany. I'm planning on wb stain. I'm contemplating 2 thin coats of automotive urethane clear on top.

I've done oil and nitro finishes before, not "reliced" but I was definitley going for a vintage or old, slightly weathered and worn in kinda vibe.

I want this one to be very shiny and well protected.

The neck is done, maple/maple. Tru-Oil, back is satin, head and fretboard high gloss.

I know the debate rages on finishes and tone. I'm not doing base coat / clear coat, just going for a level, shiny finish, just enough product to get there.

Urethane cures very hard and tough, all I want to know is if a coupla mils of clear is going to be tone disaster.

Thanks
