Hey Joel, I had the EHX Soul Preacher and couldn't get past the white noise it generated when on. Even if you had your guitar volume all the way down, just engaging the pedal adding a noticeable hiss to my amp to the point where I took it back and got the Boss CS-3 with Monte Allums Opto Plus Mod and have been happy with that for a year now.
I did think the Soul Preacher sounded great but the noise was too much for me. Just a word of caution.
