i'm curios to know what hot rod owners are doing with these amps. mods, tubes(power and preamp), speaker changes...are ya tweakin' them or going as is? the only "mod" i've really done to this amp(deville2x12) is switch out the v1 12ax7 with an old 60's ge 5751. this has given me more clean headroom (and kept the punch), and it brought the mids alive. i would recommend this $15-$20 experiment to anyone. right now i'm looking into power tubes, something with a tight bass response---new...nos? also anyone try the bass control mod?---if so, did it alter the mids and highs? and since i'm repeating myself, how about speaker swaps? any anwers to these questions or any tips/tweaks that you've found greatly appreciated.
