I am glad you like the pictures. Definitely a lot of guitar for the money.

Yeah, the modern and vintage style bridges aren't interchangeable. I believe the scenario you describe would happen if I had gone with the vintage bridge. The vintage bridge is smaller, and as you say would require redrilling and filling the old holes (no thanks!).

I ordered the modern-style bridge Callaham offers for American Standards. As far as I know it will be a straight drop-in. I found the schematics of both bridge styles and measured twice before ordering ...if I am still wrong, I'll either return it, or put the new bridge on the Am Std I have...

I'll let you know how it turns out! I'll even record the sound before and after the change... If it fits.
