Honestly, it might be worth the price of a consult by someone who's done a lot of these kinds of things. That sounds like the kind of place where you could spend a lot of money and still sound, uh, not so good, unless you really account for the room. I'd try to find someone that has done more than one similar "rooms" and go check out the sound there to see what they are using. Good luck.
We're in an elementary school auditorium/cafeteria and just use some JBL powered EONs for mains and powered Behringer floor monitors, with a good sized Behringer mixer. A lot less $ than what you're proposing, and we send everything but the drums through it right now. It's just a temporary setup (we hope!). The main church has a 1000 seat sanctuary with a permanent installation, wireless headset monitors, etc. That's some serious $, there.
