Regardless of the sentiment expressed in this post, "tracks" are used frequently in Christian music, perhaps more than any other genre. When I was recording Christian artists providing tracks (sans vocals) of the recordings was part of the package.

So to all of the purists, good on you, but don't get overly frustrated with the idea of using tracks. They have been around a long time and will probably outlast all of us.
