hahaha! bosstone, are you remembering the song "Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb"? ... i think it was by Edd Byrnes (who played Kookie, the early-60s hipster on "77 Sunset Strip") and Connie Stevens. Kookie was sort of an LA proto-beatnik ... the big hook at the end of the song was, "Cause that's the kind of scene that I dig...baby, you're the ginchiest!"
as for the Zoom units, i've been tempted, but all the menu-diving turns me off (not ginchy!). i'm looking for the equivalent of the Radio Shack cassette player you can set up on a table at the bar, push Record, and listen to effortlessly at home after the gig. of course, in the digital age, i may be dreaming the impossible dream!
