Maybe (definetly) this has been discussed before . .

The PG mod just puts one pickup out of phase to the other by changing the polarity of the magnet. Right?

Physically the result is the same as swapping the leads of one pickup . . ! (regardless the fact that the case of the pickup should be grounded!)

So why not, the pickup is already opened, apply a 2 or 4 conductor wire and do the switching with a push/pull pot? You'll get both possibilities without even drilling an additional hole into your precious tiger-stripe-maple top! Or is this just a paradigm that i try to knock over?
