Your OS will have been updated twice in the last 60 days and your security software will be downloading updated files most days. There have also been a number of other relevent updates in the last month including at least two updates to Firefox and a major update to Java.
I have had the same problem you mention - forums and other sites requiring repeated log-ins - but I've only come across this a couple of times with TDPRI in the last 12 months and it's only when I'm not logged in at the start of the session and then only log-in to reply - the log-in doesn't "stick". I never found a cause but Paul's answer makes sense as it happens to me on different forums using different hosting software.
If it happens again, try using the "Back" button in your browser - in most cases I've found that the post remains intact which saves you having to re-type it. If you are still not sure that it will go through, copy the text before you press OKAY so that you can easily paste it back if you do have a problem. If it's a regular problem and you can't find a cure, try writing your posts in Notepad - or similar - and then paste it into the forum's text box. That way you'll at least avoid having to retype it each time.
