The MusicMaster Bass had/has a guitar SC PU (with 6 pole pieces!) as far as I know.
Why not try the original Telecaster bridge PU?
You can fix it on the body first and if this works and brings a good sound, you can make a sheet metal on top / modify and use the old bridge ...
