It's possible (for free too), I've done it, but can be either complicated or time consuming. You may need to convert the DVD to VOB files (DVD -> VOB -> WAV -> MP3), then extract the audio from those. Basically you need a few the freeware programs to do this, with a shell on top of it, that uses all them software in the right order.
I can check for the software I have on my PC at home, if nobody else comes up with a solution right off the bat.
