I saw the Black Crowes a few weeks ago and Rich was using 2 65 London half stacks and some rack gear. I just got a copy of his Paper CD and his tones are much heavier/thicker than just a plain jane 5E3 IMO. If you peruse his website he lists all of his gear (not what he uses on each track though). I am getting similar tones out of a neck humbucker in my tele and a Sovtek Midget 50 with the gain upped a fair bit through a 4x10 cab. My playing sounds like ****e but the tone is there!
