Tips and tricks for open G playing?

After being a standard tuning snob all my life, I'm finally learning to play in open G tuning (DGDGBD). I love the R.L. Burnside/Mississippi Fred McDowell style and also have a newfound appreciation for Keef. So far I've watched a few Youtube videos by people showing "how to play" this or that, and it seems the basic riffs and 1-4-5 chords are pretty easy. But I know enough about guitar in general to know I'm just scratching the surface.

If anyone would like to share some tricks, turnarounds, neat chord shapes or whatever - without or without a slide - I'd love to learn.

Thanks!
