Memory, Ear...Maybe both...How do you play songs?
I'm wondering how most here play songs. I pretty much play by memorization based on chord charts, but I'm working on developing my ear and I'm trying to transcribe simple "old time hymns" and folk songs...for a beginner!
Let me know how you all do it. I might pick up some tips and may want to emulate you...at least give it a try. I've only been playing again for a year and half. Don't have any dreams of playing for more than my dogs, wife, myself. I would like to jam with friends to pass a few hours on a saturday but I don't know any other players.
