At my high school graduation, we had a fellow student who was somewhat of a child prodigy. He was to have played some classical piece, but, as Elvis Costello did, on SNL, he switched songs, in midcourse, and played a ripping version of "Bumble Boogie", instead.
They withheld his diploma, but he got a standing ovation and the everlasting appreciation of many of his peers for his talent, his sense of humor, and, most of all, for his very musical take on civil disobedience.
