That sounds like my schedule. I only bring a backup if it's a festival type show, where you play 60-90 minutes, then move on. For "normal" club gigs, it's just me and my Tele. I'm very particular about maintenance on my guitars, so I don't worry too much about electro-mechanical failures. A broken string can be replaced really quickly on a Tele, so a bass solo usually does the trick.
