I often use my Tele in church. I've played it in our College/Young adult group, as well as the main service on Sunday morning (3 services, 1500-2000 people each service). Never had any complaints about the look, just the sound! (Some of the older folk tend to dislike any loud music, even acoustic guitar.)

On the days where I'm not playing it though, my friend is playing it as our lead guitarist. It definitely gets a workout each week
