I love Thinlines and jazz as well. I've got a '72 RI with VV Vibetron pups and a parts Thinline with single humbucker on the neck mostly for chord/melody stuff. I also like darker sounding Teles for jazz stuff.
For the price of a CS Thinline, I'd rather put together a couple of Thinlines with my choice of high quality body, neck, pups. etc... Sourced from either Warmoth, USACG, or Musikraft. A good example would be on this thread
