from my very personal experience, I think the Thinlines are some of the most versatile guitars ever..

and are good for all styles..

which again is true for all TELEs, my opinion

If money does not matter go for a CS Thinline from Fender..

My , again, very personal experience was, that a US built G&L semi hollow ASAT delivered excellent build quality, superb playability and wonderful tones as well, for a fraction of the Fender Custom Shop prices..

however, having said that, I need my AM STD plain vanilla Telecaster ever so often..."for all the other stuff" or all of the same music with a "harder twang" and more rustic tones..(have not changed PUs, is all standard, and fine with me..)

Need both, cant help it..

The semi hollows have a more "modern "acoustic" HIFI" tone, that's my impression..

Both the CS Thinline and my ASAT have that

Thinline "old & original & rustic", if you want that, I would try out an Esquire...
