I played one locally last year and really liked it. I would have loved to have the money to buy it. This was a light Relic, black with maple neck.
It was relatively light, had a big neck, and I think the 9.5" fingerboard radius. It still had most of the older Telecaster type of twang/spank/sparkle, but it was just a touch woodier or mellower sounding if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if you would notice a huge difference compared to a solidbody if you were to walk into a store and just pick this one up, but I think the difference was noticeable enough that most people would hear it if you were able to compare both instruments in front of them.
