I've had a couple of these things over the years, but I have no clue how to use them.

Black & Decker calls them "Screw finders".

They are a small gray plastic tube with a spring inside. I did find they are supposed to be for screwing in slotted screws strait, but I still have no clue how to use them.

Any ideas?
