well, that's an interesting group of notes you put out there, because it has a flat third and a third (if we're talking in C)
in the key of C, you have 1, b3, 3, 5 there in your little note group. i wouldn't call it a blues scale, but they're certainly notes you could play in a blues.
now in a blues, over a 7 chord, i like to do a little quick movement from the b3 to the 3, via a bend or hammer on. i don't have a guitar with me at this moment, but me thinks the problem you're running into is that, again, over a 7 chord, going from b3 to 3 is going to give you a little tension and then some resolution. going from a major third down to the minor third might just sound like a mistake--it starts with a consonant sound and ends with a dissonance that your ears might not be digging.
