I've got about 8 coats of deft on this one (I'm currently planning on calling it TeleZilla. It's that or the IguanaCaster.) I wet sand the surfaces after every fifth coat. You can see scuff marks where I've finger sanded out surface contaminants from the previous coat; it's not elegant but it works.
Here it hangs next to the MaddyCaster which is simply cooking in the heat. I'll start sanding, scraping and shooting clear on it later this week.
It's currently 105 degrees in the garage, and the hottest part of the day is still about an hour and a half away. Its a great place to cure lacquer.
I have all the MaddyCaster's hardware and parts on hand and the headstock of it's neck painted pink, so it will be the first one finished, even though the green one's body is a little further along.
