If you get a handle on this issue, please post. I'd love to hear that there's a low cost solution to this issue. It would be a crime to charge $850 for an amp that can't be used for recording!

My tech checked it out and did his routine maintenance on it and the hum is gone even when the amp is turned all the way up. So it's fine now and basically neither of us know what was causing it, since he didn't have to do anything special to get it to stop. Could have even been the fact that he may have changed the positions of one or more tubes. He did confirm that it's a decently built amp. I can't wait to get it back from him because it is indeed very nice sounding. I may or may not swap out the speaker. The one that's stock seems to sound good, but I always assume (correctly or not) that a Weber or Celestion will sound better.
