Creedence Re-visited....

I'm just back from seeing CCR at Pine Knob (or DTE depending...) and I must say that it was very enjoyable. Not in a "blow yer face out" kinda way, but they were great nonetheless. The biggest disappointment was finding out that Elliot Easton is not with them now. I've never liked the Cars, yet I always LOVED Elliots playing, and I really looked forward to seeing him live with CCR. No matter. The new guy (I can't remember his name) is a great player, and added his own style to the recipe, instead of just re-hashing John Fogerty's licks. The vocalist really came close to Fogertys sound, and was an excellent front man as well.

Old Stu and Clifford are still tight as ever, and I actually thought they were MUCH better players than they were during the glory years. I used to take them for granted, but they really are a great rhythm section.

It was a spur of the moment deal. My drummer buddy called me from the crowd on his cell phone and told me that they got in for $5. After hearing that, I threw the kids in the car, and we all went. It was a great show for the kids to see too.

Tuesday I have to take them to see Kids Bop Live.

Don't expect a concert review on that one folks!
