Should the winner of the All Star game have home field advantage in the world series?

Short answer...No.

It's an exhibition game. It is to give the fans a chance to build their dream teams & see "what would happen if...". Period. More than half of the teams represented have no chance of making it to the World Series. Where is the incentive to perform? The managers should not be put into a position where-by they can not give each elected player a chance to play. I completely agree with skydawg in that this is a direct result of the tie game a few years back. But that never should have happened. That was their (MLB's) fault. It should either alternate from year to year or the team with the best record should get the advantage.
